Stuck in the past (The Perpetual Conundrum)

Here we are on the cusp of the year 2020 and still the nation even with a new administration seems to be stuck in a never ending loop of race / religion / royalty.

While other forward thinking nations are full steam ahead embracing the future we still cannot move as a nation on the same old tired issues plaguing us. Except for PETRONAS and AIRASIA and maybe SP SETIA none of our products or services are known in the international arena.

China at one time was perhaps 30 years behind us in development has leap frogged the world in technology. Huawei / Vivo / Oppo / Xiaomi just to name a few is able to thrive and grow globally despite China being a 'communist' country.

Huawei is now ahead of Apple in terms of smart phone sales in the world and it only took them a few decades to transform their agriculture economy into the tech driven economy that is now lifting hundreds of millions of their population out of poverty.

They can build their own cars, planes, aircraft carriers, submarines and other defence technology seemingly overnight. They are among the biggest producers of solar panels as well as being the biggest lenders in the world and it is causing great concerns to this region but that's another topic for another day.

And where are we? We have a Sovereign Wealth Fund investing in Lingerie.....an imam that married an 11 year old girl....an ex PM still free even as his shenanigans are laid bare for the world to see....a cabinet that seems divided and not cohesive....an economy reeling from huge debts for no reason....a prime suspect on the run......we have graduates that can barely communicate in English...and a whole bunch of other stupid issues that pervades our society.

No one is looking and planning for the future it seems. No one is challenging the status quo. While we have among the biggest broadband and wireless penetration for the population we barely use it for anything other than spreading lies and division on social media??

Time is slipping by as we fall farther behind to others in terms of competitiveness and no one cares.
