Reminesce: Mechinta Johor Bahru And Me..(PART 1)

Image
I was born in 1970 in Johore Bahru. And growing up in those days was an absolute joy when Internet,Smartphones were still just a concept. My mom worked at the Blood bank at the Hospital and we stayed at the Goverment Housing at Jalan Haji Yaacob close by. The times indeed have changed. We had an Indian family as our neighbor and we always always got along just fine. I had friends of all races and wore shorts to primary school. It wasn't a big deal. Malay girls didn't wear any tudung then and after my morning schooling,in the afternoon I attended my Religious School at Bukit Zaharah. The teachers were educators back then and took pride in their profession. When you caused trouble, spanking and caning was par for the course. We didn't dare complain to our parents because we knew we deserved it. It was almost a carefree existence back then.  I took the bus by myself to everywhere without my parents having to worry for my safety. Everyone looked out for each ot

Christianisation infiltrating politics, danger to Islam, says Nik Abduh

Christianisation infiltrating politics, danger to Islam, says Nik Abduh Read more here : https://www.themalaysianinsight.com/s/5405/ My Thoughts:- Who is this guy? And what the hell is he talking about? For a self confessed muslim scholar to make this absurd and ludicrous claim is at the very least seditious and dangerous as well as inflammatory towards others with different faiths. I wonder if he even realises that Malaysia is a plural Nation not beholden to any one religion although Islam is our Official Religion as described in our Constitution. Does he realize that his party is Party Islam Malaysia????? So what he's saying is because it's Islamic in name and ideology it's well and good but for others it's prohibited? Is that his argument?  That's pathetic and lame. I suppose Christianisation is the only enemy of Islam in his thinking. Corruption! Greed! Bigotry! Racism! to name a few is not as dangerous as Christianisation?? I wouldn't was

Anwar Ibrahim backs off on PM Post's insistence!

Image
PETALING JAYA: Amanah has lauded Anwar Ibrahim’s move not to offer himself as Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) prime ministerial candidate for the 14th general election (GE14), saying it showed the PKR de facto leader’s determination to remove distractions coming in the path of defeating the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN). Its deputy president Salahuddin Ayub said it was a wise decision as the opposition coalition needs to move forward instead of being weighed down by issues over who should be the prime minister if it wins the election due by the middle of next year. He said Anwar knows what is best for PH in any situation, including the recent scenario where PPBM apparently wanted to lead the coalition. “He has shed light on this for us, for PH to move forward and to forget about who will be the next prime minister,” Salahuddin told FMT. He said it is time for PH component parties to show their strength in unity and convince the people of their cooperation and capabilities. w.freema

From The Star: What Concerns Malaysians Most by - Wong Chun Wai / Rebuttal

THE biggest concern among Malaysians, as we head towards the general election, is the cost of living. It’s as simple as that. There have been plenty of political and religious side shows, but for many Malaysians, regardless of race, settling the many bills each month is what worries them the most. Although Malaysia remains one of the cheapest countries to live in, its citizens have been spoilt for too long. We are so used to having so many food items subsidised, including sugar, at one time, to the point that some of us have had difficulties adjusting ourselves. Our neighbours still come to Malaysia to buy petrol, because ours is still cheaper than theirs. But, as in any elections, politicians will always promise the heavens to get our votes. One of the promises, we have already heard, is the abolishment of the Goods and Services Tax. No doubt that doing away with GST would appeal to voters, but seriously, even the opposition politicians calling for this are aw

London Bridge

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live/2017/jun/03/london-bridge-closed-after-serious-police-incident-live My deepest condolences to the victims of this dastardly act, I hope the people of London and U.K will stay strong and ever vigilant in the face of this faceless terror that seemingly knows no bounds of human decency and values. This is the world we live in now and I am frustrated that there's this much hatred and contempt for decent ordinary people who are just going about their day. Now is the time to unite and to be strong!!  My heartfelt thanks to the men and women of the London Police and everyone involved in the aftermath of this cowardly and senseless attack !... Thank you.

BIG HEADS, LOW IQ: CORRUPTED BY NAJIB REGIME, ISLAM IS BIG BUSINESS IN MALAYSIA – JUST TO SIT NEAR ‘ZAKIR NAIK  GROUPIE’ DR MAZA COSTS RM30,000! Islamocapitalism is a phenomenon where Islamic elements are used to make obscene amounts of money. In Malaysia, Islam is big business. From the tahfiz schools to Ustaz Ayam’s quran-friendly chickens, to tacky reality TV shows (Imam Muda), to dramas filled with absurd theology (Tanah Kubur), Islam has becomes the brand through which many sell their religion. Now it is even possible to get VVIP level Islam! Platinum card level Islam, if you will. From useless flights into the Malaysian skies to learn the Quran, to pointless Islamic cruises, it costs a lot of money to get premium quality guidance. Luckily the guidance from Allah is free. This

Off Topic - The Importance Of Failing...

Image
The Importance Of Failing... While all of us aspire to at some point achieve success as we define them..i believe that at the same time achieving that success we strive for would be impossible if we fear to fail! Failing is underrated because we, myself included are so blinded by the desire to achieve that elusive success that often times we are indeed stuck in a loop for we fear to fail. I say we must embrace failing as a necessary step for succeeding. How else are we to navigate the multitude of obstacles along the way when we are terrified to be wrong? We are creatures of our environment after all. And most books or cd's or videos stress on simply doing the stuff that will turn you to be successful in areas of your choosing. Very few will allow the conversation  to be about failing. Failing is not the enemy, it's the most required element towards succeeding. One must then fail if one truly desires to succeed. Simple as that ! For only by failing does one learn the m

Sarawak In The Report

Sarawak Report : Questions For Nazir Razak Re-1MDB Payments NEW EVIDENCE 27 May 2017 Sarawak Report has now received the full details of the payments received by CIMB boss Nazir Razak from his brother Najib, out money which turned out to have been stolen from 1MDB. Nazir Razak admitted to these payments when they were first reported by the Wall Street Journal last year, which amounted to the equivalent of around $7 million.  Nazir temporarily  stood down from his position in April 2016  and initiated an enquiry at the bank. Returning to his position the following month, Nazir said that he had been exonerated by the bank’s independent enquiry into its boss.  The Prime Minister’s brother had explained he had been asked by Najib to assist in processing money, which he had understood to have been legitimately raised through genuine donations for the BN election effort. However, Nazir did not publicly appear to explain how it could be necessary to ask a senior banking off
