The suffering continues..while the executive plays politics..

The suffering for ordinary Malaysians continues by the day while the executives are playing politics to safeguard their powers and privileges. It's been more than two years since the last G.E where the BN promised us change ! That promised change is nowhere to be seen while the country is preoccupied in mud slinging from both sides of the aisle. The rakyat can only look on as all the govts arsenal from the police,MACC,judiciary,ISA,OSA,SPRM,Home Ministry are brought to bear on the Pakatan Rakyat.

All this is happening on a faster pace lately and the people are getting impatient with it all. We need reforms,we need jobs,we need minimum wage,we need health care,we a level playing field to earn a living and not just lip service as is the prevailing agenda from BN.

We need to overhaul the education system,we need transparency,we need to regain our country's standing in this fast paced age of globalisation. We need imaginative,practical solutions to bring in more investors,we need an overhaul of our economy,we need more emphasis on green technologies..We need all that and more and yet...not one of the MP's in Parliament are fighting

the much needed fight..I fear for my future and that of my children and my countrymen and their children if this does not change soon....

I was born in 1970 in Johore Bahru. And growing up in those days was an absolute joy when Internet,Smartphones were still just a concept. My mom worked at the Blood bank at the Hospital and we stayed at the Goverment Housing at Jalan Haji Yaacob close by. The times indeed have changed. We had an Indian family as our neighbor and we always always got along just fine. I had friends of all races and wore shorts to primary school. It wasn't a big deal. Malay girls didn't wear any tudung then and after my morning schooling,in the afternoon I attended my Religious School at Bukit Zaharah. The teachers were educators back then and took pride in their profession. When you caused trouble, spanking and caning was par for the course. The slide to Mazism....

Malaysia it seems is sliding dangerously towards a version of Nazism which I term as Mazism due to the constant and unrelenting use of race, religion, royalty. As with the Nazi's the new mushrooming of groups, NGO's etc promotes Malay pride (Master Race), anti jews, anti chinese and expresses dissatisfaction with things like  ICERD  without the need for proper dialogue and consultations. Sound familiar? And the authorities are slow to identify and curb such extremists views and allowing for these pressure groups with nefarious motives and intentions to gain traction and support throughout the malay citizens. What are they thinking? I am all for freedom of expression but when a group of people can threaten chaos if things doesn't go their way well....need I say more? Perhaps someone has to get hurt before we realise that this is a problem. And this is supposedly a New Malaysia. Civil Service = Free Money (Malaysian Context)

Malaysia in the late 60's and throughout the 70's all the way to the late 80's without a doubt had one of the best civil service in this region. The whole government machinery was highly respected and they did a wonderful job of bringing this nation out of it's agricultural economy into the manufacturing and knowledge based economy. That in turn brought the mass population out of poverty and the middle class was born in this era. The shock of the market crash in the late 80's was well managed and the people didn't suffer too many hardship as a result. The civil servants were mostly professional and English was well spoken among them and they were regarded at the international level. Somehow slowly but surely the quality of the civil service began to go down soon after. The civil service became the domain of politicians that brought with them cronyism and corruption into the decision making processes of policies and projects implemented by the government.
