The Importance Of Failing...
While all of us aspire to at some point achieve success as we define them..i believe that at the same time achieving that success we strive for would be impossible if we fear to fail!

 Failing is underrated because we, myself included are so blinded by the desire to achieve that elusive success that often times we are indeed stuck in a loop for we fear to fail.

 I say we must embrace failing as a necessary step for succeeding. How else are we to navigate the multitude of obstacles along the way when we are terrified to be wrong? We are creatures of our environment after all. And most books or cd's or videos stress on simply doing the stuff that will turn you to be successful in areas of your choosing.

 Very few will allow the conversation  to be about failing. Failing is not the enemy, it's the most required element towards succeeding. One must then fail if one truly desires to succeed. Simple as that ! For only by failing does one learn the most valuable lessons that no Degree or Diploma or PhD's in the world can teach !

 So do not fear failure.... It's just the gate keeper to your success. It's the toll booth where you have to pay your dues before entering the 'promised' land. It will teach you more than you'll ever know....humility, careful consideration, your inbuilt weakness and insecurities among others and failing will make you value your success ever more so !!

 So dear readers..go ahead and chase that dream you have that's been forever stuck in the recesses at the back of your mind for so long. Take action now ! Wait no more ! And if along the way.....you fail.....accept that and dust yourself off, take your notes and do it again the right way this time !

 Don't listen to your self doubts ! Don't fear your limitations ! Don't be a creature without a dream...... Improve your life ! Do it not for yourself but for others that you care about !! And fail as many times as you need to as long as you get up and try again...eventually you will arrive !!!

I was born in 1970 in Johore Bahru. And growing up in those days was an absolute joy when Internet,Smartphones were still just a concept. My mom worked at the Blood bank at the Hospital and we stayed at the Goverment Housing at Jalan Haji Yaacob close by. The times indeed have changed. We had an Indian family as our neighbor and we always always got along just fine. I had friends of all races and wore shorts to primary school. It wasn't a big deal. The slide to Mazism....

Malaysia it seems is sliding dangerously towards a version of Nazism which I term as Mazism due to the constant and unrelenting use of race, religion, royalty. As with the Nazi's the new mushrooming of groups, NGO's etc promotes Malay pride (Master Race), anti jews, anti chinese and expresses dissatisfaction with things like  ICERD  without the need for proper dialogue and consultations. Sound familiar? And the authorities are slow to identify and curb such extremists views and allowing for these pressure groups with nefarious motives and intentions to gain traction and support throughout the malay citizens. What are they thinking? I am all for freedom of expression but when a group of people can threaten chaos if things doesn't go their way well....need I say more? Perhaps someone has to get hurt before we realise that this is a problem. And this is supposedly a New Malaysia. Civil Service = Free Money (Malaysian Context)

Malaysia in the late 60's and throughout the 70's all the way to the late 80's without a doubt had one of the best civil service in this region. The whole government machinery was highly respected and they did a wonderful job of bringing this nation out of it's agricultural economy into the manufacturing and knowledge based economy. That in turn brought the mass population out of poverty and the middle class was born in this era. The shock of the market crash in the late 80's was well managed and the people didn't suffer too many hardship as a result. The civil servants were mostly professional and English was well spoken among them and they were regarded at the international level. Somehow slowly but surely the quality of the civil service began to go down soon after. The civil service became the domain of politicians that brought with them cronyism and corruption into the decision making processes of policies and projects implemented by the government.
