A Father’s Wisdom Earned...

As I look at my reflection in the mirror all I see is an old man with just a whisper of youth and exuberance still inside.
Gone are the brash kid that at barely 18 faced the world with bravado .That questioned everything! That wanted to have fun! No responsibilities except for himself!
But also..... That insecure kid that questioned his self worth everyday, And so much other things.
The only thing I see starting back at me in the mirror is a 50 year old man's look of quiet contendment with where he is in life and what he may have accomplished...
And someday, one day you too will get to soak in the very same experience.
But before that day arrives for you, I'm going to share with you all to which that I have learned throughout my life so that you are better prepared than me to handle this thing called...Life....

1-  The hardest thing to do in our lives is to EARN TRUST from others AND the easiest thing to do is to lose that TRUST!
2- You WILL fail! More than you will succeed! But that only makes the successes that much more sweet to savour.
3- Never rest your faith and hope in anything other than God and yourself!

I was born in 1970 in Johore Bahru. And growing up in those days was an absolute joy when Internet,Smartphones were still just a concept. My mom worked at the Blood bank at the Hospital and we stayed at the Goverment Housing at Jalan Haji Yaacob close by. The times indeed have changed. We had an Indian family as our neighbor and we always always got along just fine. I had friends of all races and wore shorts to primary school. It wasn't a big deal. The slide to Mazism....

Malaysia it seems is sliding dangerously towards a version of Nazism which I term as Mazism due to the constant and unrelenting use of race, religion, royalty. As with the Nazi's the new mushrooming of groups, NGO's etc promotes Malay pride (Master Race), anti jews, anti chinese and expresses dissatisfaction with things like  ICERD  without the need for proper dialogue and consultations. Sound familiar? And the authorities are slow to identify and curb such extremists views and allowing for these pressure groups with nefarious motives and intentions to gain traction and support throughout the malay citizens. What are they thinking? I am all for freedom of expression but when a group of people can threaten chaos if things doesn't go their way well....need I say more? Perhaps someone has to get hurt before we realise that this is a problem. And this is supposedly a New Malaysia. Don't fear Singapore???

Today our dear PM extolled to UMNO members in Pulai not to fear Singapore that intends to invest in the mega govt project at Iskandar Development Region. So....it has come to this then. Our country that is rich in terms of natural resources has to kow tow to our well managed neighbor down south to plead and protect their interest so that they will come and invest in Johore. Iskandar Development Region was the brainchild of the government and so far aside from sporadic investment news from Lego to build a Lego World Theme Park there not much else is known on the progress of the whole project. This leads me to believe that all this is just a desperate attempt to convince our southern neighbor to invest in a place that others are not interested in. The reasons are many and top among the list is corruption and bureaucracies from the myriads of govt institutions even before any project can be approved,let alone started in IDR. Foreign investors have no time for such things
